After months of preparation, the long-awaited restaurant RYCE has opened to the public. According to the front of the house manager Gloria and Chef Jeff Christiano, the opening went smoothly and very well overall. The student-run restaurant will be open from 4:00pm to 9:00pm every day of the week.
When entering the Caribbean themed eatery, you will be greeted by either an East High school student or manager Gloria. The medium sized restaurant can host up to 60 hungry customers. With affordable prices and quality food, Rochester Youth Culinary Experience will be a hotspot for foodies and families alike. A grand public opening is scheduled on March 7th from 3:30 pm - 8:00 pm, in time with the airing of a segment on RYCE on the news. The recommended dishes for newcomers could be the ropa vieja, $13, a beef dish served best with rice and beans, or the house made Jerk Chicken, $14, served with your choice of side and sweet fried dumplings. Prices are on the lower side, ranging up to $14 at maximum. The restaurant hopefully will continue to grow as a community and a business, feeding hungry people for years to come! Henry Davis
