College Admissions Deadlines
By Robin Kettles Most colleges have a deadline for admissions and others have a rolling admission process. But just because a college might have rolling admissions doesn’t mean you should apply late. If you apply late, you’ll end up trying to get accepted late into the school and the later you apply, the harder it is to get accepted into the school. The earlier you apply, the faster you get accepted into the college and you would know that you’ll actually have a spot into the college and don’t have to wait until May or June to know if you got accepted. Also, there are deadlines for you financial aid or FAFSA, which is one of the most important parts of the college application process. FAFSA helps you pay for college and you definitely want the government to help you out. Your financial aid package might be a combination of grants and loans. A loan is something you have to pay back with interest but a grant is something you don’t have to pay back so the sooner you apply for grants, the fewer loans you have to apply for. Now is the time to make sure you have your applications done, letter of recommendation submitted, and FAFSA completed. If you need help with any steps of this process, be sure to make an appointment with your counselor as soon as possible.
