Don’t Waste Your Break!

Many of us are anxious for Christmas break to start. We can’t wait to forget about school for over a week and hang out with our friends and family. The problem is we forget one important thing: after Christmas break comes the end of the marking period and midterms! It’s that stressful time where we all rush to get as much work as we can in and get that good GPA.

Instead of lying around in pajamas all day, we should make time to study. Yes, study. It may sound a bit “uncool” or “boring” but if you really think about it, what has more worth? Relaxing for two weeks and lying around doing nothing or working to do a phenomenal job on your Regents exam, making it one step closer to graduation, and great presentation to universities? One survey shows that studying for more than 2.4 hours has a huge impact on your exam pass rate.  Why not start over break?  You were just planning on lying around in your pajamas anyway, right?

Sometimes studying can be hard to do especially when you’re the type person who can’t learn the normal way. A good way to study is to switch it up a bit, get out of a routine. You can go to www.youtube.com and search up “EXCLUSIVE STUDY TIPS!!! FUN and EASY ways to spice up your study sessions!” This is a good video to apply to your study time. Remember to use your time wisely and think about the outcomes of how you use your time. Have a wonderful break and get some studying done!

I love that you wrote so informally and directly to your audience. You sound like you're talking. The best part for me was going beyond telling people to "study" to telling where they can get ideas about studying. Suggestiont: write next time about those ideas. For example, self-quizzing is something like 3 to 7 times more effective than re-reading. Maybe a regular column on how to study?
