​Fairy Godmothers Prom Fair 2019: My Experience

This year’s annual Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester Prom Fair was held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The prom fair started at 10am and the line was out the door. Young ladies accompanied by parents, guardians and friends to aid them with finding the perfect prom dress, accompanying me was my good friend and fellow East High senior Alejandra Cedeño.
But showing up on time does not guarantee you an early spot. Although we showed up at 10am we were placed within the mid and lower 200’s. This did not discourage us from finding our perfect prom dress and we were prepared to wait.

And wait we did. Our personal waiting time was about 4-5 hours but we were able to make the time go by faster by enjoying the scenery and food downtown Rochester has to offer. We also were able to enjoy the activities provided and vendors by the Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester such as Continental School of Beauty, Spallina Materials, Eat Me Ice Cream and many more.

Once it was my turn to pick a prom dress of my choosing I was assisted by a volunteer guide me and help me make my decision. After trying on prom dresses I was able to find my perfect dress.

Afterwards I had the chance of finding matching jewelry, shoes and a purse and my experience was done. I had a great experience at this year’s annual Fairy Godmothers of Greater Rochester Prom Fair event and encourage others to participate next year.
