By Jaheim Jones Since my 2014-2015 year of high school I’ve been going to East high school for 5 years from 7th grade through 12th grade. Honestly I wouldn’t have had it any other way because East High school made me the person I am today. Also seeing the school age and the people along with it make it a little harder to let go. The year I was enrolled in East the building was relocated back to East Main St. It was almost gone forever if it wasn’t for the U of R. Back then I went to school with my older brother Shyheim. He was outgoing and I was more to myself. In school we were complete opposites, nobody ever believed we were blood brothers. I also had a cousin named Jermaine who also went to the school with us along with his younger sister Deshawna who also always stood to herself like me. And I made some friends in my family like Chris, Nettie and Richord. At that time I had a brush cut with a taper. Much skinnier than I am now and skin was lighter first starting at East. Since those years a lot has changed but I have been through a lot. In total I have 31 credits, 5 Regents and 3 college credits. I have won a $500 Scholarship from and Summit Federal Credit Union and a scholarship from Wegmans. I have been involved in, Hillside, Y.E.T.A , JV and Varsity Football, Wrestling, JV lacrosse, Student Government, East High Eagle Eye Report and jazz band. I also want to pursue a career in music production and live recording, something that is a passion for me. School spirit has always been live, meaning our crowds were big and our teams showed no mercy on the competition. This year our 2019-2020 athletes in Football received a silver medal in states, while our basketball team did better and received a gold medal in states competing with the best teams ranked in section 5. During my time in school I've been learning everything I can about music production. Being here at East gave me inspiration from my coaches, teachers and family on what life should be like. Now officially a graduate of East High school I will go away for my high school days but I will never forget them.
