My name is CharKendra Harris and I am a senior at East High School. I have been at East since I was in the seventh grade. I don’t really like school because it can be aggravating. People ask me questions all day and get on my nerves. I do like most of the teachers though and I have built a relationship with many of my teachers. One thing I do like is that I am on the tennis team at East. This is my second year on the team.
Last year I got a job at Wegmans. I really like earning my own money. I am a fashionista who likes to buy clothes and shoes. My job lets me earn money to support my obsession with fashion. I also braid hair for my friends and family. That also helps me earn money. Another way I get to show my fashion expertise is in the Vision Care program. I have completed three years of the program. I like the visits with the eye doctor because I get to work with people helping them get glasses. I am good at helping people find frames that work on their face. I am looking forward to going to college and starting anew. I want to see what it is like to go to college and be a young adult on my own.

My name is Luanys Rivera. I am 17 years old and a senior at East High School. That’s the first main thing you now know about me. But “Who am I?” is a question I have yet to know more about and will still be answering. There is so much more to learn about myself; I am still learning who I am as a person, what I want, what my goals are, my strengths and limitations. As a student and individual I am VERY ambitious about my success and growth. I look forward to more experiences that will lead me to learning who I am and what I can do that builds my growth. I believe that taking my time, being patient and educating myself makes a huge part of who I want to become, and definitely trusting in God first, keeping my faith. As my last year in high school I look forward to finishing this year with participating in sports such as volleyball and softball and becoming City Champions, keeping a high GPA, and getting accepted into my first university choice, the University of Rochester. While these are my current goals, I do not know what the future holds or what to expect. I have yet to find out and that is the most exciting part of my journey. I ALWAYS say and go by “whatever happens, happens, and what is meant to be will be.” While I am a student, I am also a daughter, sister and friend. The people in my life are a HUGE part of who I am as a person. My parents and loved ones are my motivation, my support system, and the people who shaped me into the young lady I am today. There is so much I am looking forward to this year and beyond that, I am absolutely proud of myself to have come a long way whether it is to fail and succeed or learn from my mistakes but it has built me into the person I am today, in which I am grateful and thankful for. Hi! I’m Olivia Marcano and I'm a senior at East High which I've attended for 5 years so I know it pretty well. I come from a family of strong matriarchs, who influence me in a lot of ways. I don't really like to read but I am a tenacious student and I like to write about things that interest me like differing political views and world cultures. I hope this class will include those. |
