Spanish teacher Dr. Boyle is doing something to help the lower school with their reading: she is giving out books during the lower school lunchtime. Anyone can help her out by donating books to her but they have meet a certain criteria.
Such as:
  • High Quality Reads: For example, titles that appear in NY Times best sellers, books that have turned into movies in the last five years, or books that focus on current topics/themes.
  • Book conditions: Books must be in good or excellent condition ONLY.
  • High interest topics - for high schoolers and young adults.
She is also asking that staff to help out. If you have books that meet the criteria above then donate them to Dr. Boyle.
For more information about this then talk to Dr. Boyle and donate books to room D138.  The goal is to get every kid reading!

Fantastic article because it is spreading awareness to students and staff that maybe interested in donating books. Also, it influences certain students to read which can lead to a new genre they enjoy.

HANA! Thank you for writing about this initiative Dr. Boyle started! I love spreading literacy around the school, and this is a great way to do that. I hope all your peers take her up on her offer to get some great books. It's hard, sometimes, for students to maintain their love of reading and their habits of readership, especially as they go off to college. But reading regularly is one way to make sure that you stay sharp and keep smart. Go tell it on the mountain, Hana! Thanks for this article!
