Are you among the group of middle aged men whose hairline is receding and have nothing else to do with their life but “be like Mike” because everybody wants to “be like Mike?” Well you're not the only one and this article is for you. According to my own personal estimates, around 75% of the men in that category disregard the facts and pure stats on why the “goat” is Lebron Raymond James. “GOAT” stands for Greatest Of All Time, and refers to a person who completely dominates at his profession. One counter argument for Michael Jordan being the “GOAT” that is routinely used by Pipper Holmes (which to me is a complete appeal to ignorance) is when he states, “since Jordan is 6 for 6 in final appearances and since we have no proof that this has ever been done in any other sport, he has to be the GOAT.” Well, Mr. Holmes, let me inform you simply stating something that has no proof does not make it true or false. It's considered a logical fallacy, and very weak argument. Just blasphemy. In addition, Lebron James has the stats to prove his rank as the “GOAT.” James is often called the best passer in basketball, despite playing a small forward. He has the most total assists for a small forward in NBA history. While Jordan was a solid passer in his own right, he did not quite have the ability to find teammates like James does, as his overall assist numbers are 7.0 to Jordan’s 5.3. Also, Jordan was unblemished in the NBA Finals, but he did not get out of the first round of the playoffs until his fourth try. James is an astonishing 10-0 in the first round all-time. All things considered the race is very close, leaving my bias out the conversation. Given the pure stats, James has the edge over Jordan, which makes him the greatest of all time. “G.O.A.T”

I often find myself engaging in this dialogue and am glad you chose to write about this. I am in the Michael Jordan camp but love to debate with other fans who have knowledge. You bring up some good points.

At the end of the day we can't really debate on who's the goat and who's not because each player worked their hardest to get where they were, they all showed us great entertainment, and they all achieved their dreams. The least we can do is be thankful for the great talent they brought to our National Basketball association.

In order to win his first championships, LeBron had to go team up with Chris Bosh and D. Wade in Miami. In order to win a championship in Cleveland, he had to bring in Kevin love and benefited from Kyrie Iriving. Now he goes to LA and he will most likely get Anthony Davis and maybe Kyrie again.

In my opinion With this i don't think neither of them is the "Goat" You Can't really compare them they didn't play in the same era and in the era Jordan played in it was way more Aggressive i feel that Lebron is just a big baby and would not be able to play in that era. i just think Different people do things better than others and Lebron is just really good at his position

There's really no telling who's the goat or who's not the goat. Lebron and Jordan have both worked on certain skills needed to improve their game day by day. Some people say Jordan is the goat in his era, others would say James is the goat in his era. In reality the only way to see who's better or who's the real goat would be to compare and contrast their all time stats.

I FEEL LIKE MICHAEL JORDAN DOESNT DESERVE TO BE CALLED THE GOAT BECAUSE HE WASNT EVEN THE BEST PLAYER IN HIS ERA BACK HE COULDNT GET PAST MAGIC AND BIRD IT TOOK HIM MORE LONGER TO EVEN GET PAST THE FIRST ROUND LEBRON IS HAS NO COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AND WAS BASICALLY A KID IN THE NBA AND HAS LIVED UP TO EVERY EXPECTATION AND MORE THAN WE EXPECTED FROM HIM AND HE HAS TOOKEN LESS TALENTED TEAMS AND UNPROVEN COACHS TO THE NBA FINALS MORE THAN JORDAN HAS IN HIS CAREER ALSO LEBRON WILL SOON BE HOLD THE MOST RECORDS IN THE NBA IS HE KEEPS DOMINATING AND KEEPING AT THE PACE HE IS PLAYING AT AND ALSO HE HAS HAD TO FACE WAY MUCH HARDER TEAMS THAN JORDAN HAS EVER HAD TO FACE AND JORDAN NEEDED THE BEST @ PLAYERS AT THEIR POSITION AT THE TIME TO EVEN BE RELEVANT IN PIPPEN AND RODMAN AND LEBRON HAS WON
