He sadly passed away on December 26th of last year at 41 years old. His death shocked the pro wrestling world but brought out heartfelt stories from everyone’s lives he touched that may have not been said otherwise. Brodie worked for companies such as NWA New York, as well as Roc City Wrestling all under the name “Big Rig” Brodie Lee, But it was in Chikara where he teamed up with Eddie Kingston and made a name for himself. His size and stature alone made him look like he was bred to be a star and was soon signed for a WWE contract in 2012. After signing with WWE he moved to Florida for a while before moving back to Rochester, when asked why he said in a 2019 interview with WWE “I’m super proud of Rochester and super proud of what Rochester is and what is represents,[...]Instead of leave Rochester I would prefer to have people associate Rochester with me and bring Rochester up.” After 8 years of working with WWE and even winning both NXT and Smackdown tag team titles with Erick Rowan he requested to be released as he sought bigger and better opportunities for himself. Finally being released a couple of months later. After his release and some down time Huber debuted in rival company All Elite Wrestling as the leader of the group called Dark Order, he was going to debut in his hometown of Rochester but due to COVID he debuted in Jacksonville, Florida. During his time there he unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW World Title and successfully won the TNT Title and held onto it for around 2 months. Huber was treated as the main event star he knew he was in AEW. After a sudden disappearance from television his wife Amanda Huber announced his passing on December 26th from non-COVID lung issues. After an outpouring of support from everyone he worked with it left an impact in the wrestling world even bringing AEW to hold an entire show in his memory. Many coworkers from his career came front with stories like Dark Order member Jon Silver saying Brodie spent an upwards of $1,000 for a suit for John just for a comedy bit, as well as almost every tribute explaining how good of a family man Brodie was.
